I have tried numerous times to install DNN version 05.06.02 and have yet to be successful.

I am using Windows 7, IIS 7.5, and SQL Server 2008 Express. I am able to follow the installation steps until I get to providing the information for the host/super user account. When I get to this step, after i enter the information, my connection times out, and when I run it again, I get the following error:

Domain Name Does Not Exist In The Database

DotNetNuke supports multiple portals from a single database/codebase. It accomplishes this by converting the URL of the client browser Request to a valid PortalID in the Portals database table. The following steps describe the process: ... * and so on * ...

I would appreciate any suggestions or recommendations to help finish this install.

Thanks very much,
Jenny

Jenny, it sounds you have issues setting up your IIS web site properly. which Windows user are you using for your app pool and what authentication settings do you use? did you specify default.aspx as default document and enable aspx?

Thanks for getting back to me.

I am new to IIS and DNN, so I was simply following the Installation Instructions for the install package. As such, I have not done the things you suggested because they are not outlined in the instructions.

I am using the Windows administrator account. I have not set any authentication settings, specified a default document, or enabled aspx...to my knowledge anyway :o) Please let me know how to do this.

Thanks so much!
Jenny

Got it working now...not too sure what the issue was, but I'm up and running now. I followed the Installation Instructions webinar and did not have to change any specific properties or settings. Thanks!
