Hello,

While testing and learning to use DNN professional [trial], I loaded the DNN project in Visual Studio 2008 and launched from there in debug mode. VS tried to compile the project, displayed a compilation error, and when I chosen to continue with the last good known build, it entered in the DNN site setup page.

From this moment things turned bad, since there was no way to go back to normal website, as it kept on entering automatically in the setup page.

I had to follow the installation steps from the setup page, but the problem was that I could no longer connect to the default "database.mdf" file.

Consequently, I indicated DNN to use a new database, even this meant we will lose our previous work.

The new installation seemed to work, asked me to configure a host a and an admin, created the new database, but finally failed.

In the URL I can see this: http://localhost/DNN/Default.aspx?tab...

I Googled for this error but only found out a couple of websites that display the same error.:(

At his point I don't know what to do...maybe I should re-install DNN Prof. trial from scratch? Bur this is not an option, what if it was a real project?

Regards,
Bradut

AFAIK, license manager is for professional version only, there might be an issue with the source code distribution. Which DotNetNuke package did you download?

Hello Sebastian,

I downloaded the trial for the professional version.

I suggest using source version of community edition instead, there is no source code available for PE specific extensions.
