Hi,

I've just created my very first site with DNN.  Very cool.  I got it all developed on my local development server, and now I'm migrating to a test server for the client to proof and become familiar with the content management.  I exported the database and I copied all the files.  But, when I try to load the new test site in a browser, it redirects back to my local development server.  Obviously, this will present problems for all visitors to the site but myself.

Local dev:  local.clientxyz.com

The test site: clientxyz.mydomain.com

Eventual production site: www.clientxyz.com

Within the Site Settings, I added the test site as an HTTP Alias.  That clearly was not the trick.  Any ideas?

Thanks!

Casey

i had the same issue just yesterday. I cleared my cache, history, close my browser... everything on my notebook and hit ctrl-f5 a few times and the site finally corrected itself and went to the correct site i specified in the URL.

i have in my dnn_PortalAlias Table as follows, in this order:

localhost/mysite

computername/mysite

mydomainname.com/mysite

to be honest what exactly triggers this i don't know, but i really didn't have to change anything, i think its just an IE caching quirk (???)

Johnny
