After installing successfully on local machine with SQL Express, I am now trying to transfer to IIS running on a Windows 2003 Server with IIS and SQL Server 2005.   I have successfully connected, and the database seems to be connected.  When I build there are no errors,

(Validation Complete
========== Build: 1 succeeded or up-to-date, 0 failed, 0 skipped ==========)
 but I get the dreaded 'Server Error in '/' Application' when I the browser loads.  My database is not being populated with the tables I would expect, so I think the error might be in the connection string (below) .
<!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2000/2005
    <add
      name="ITTeamWeb"
      connectionString="Server=SERVER03;Database=ITTeamWeb;uid="User";pwd="password";"
      providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />

Also, how does the system know to use the SQL server 2005 connection string, rather than the SQL Express connection string?

If anyone could point me in the right direction I'd be grateful.

ensure you comment out the sql express string or give a different name:

ex:

add name="ITTeamWeb_xpress

I've deleted the SQL Express string, but still getting the same problem -  Basically no build errors, but not creating any tables in the database.   I would have thought that I would get errors during the build if there is no connection?

Could someone please help I have made absolutely no progress in two weeks now.  I have tried so many connection strings that I cannot remember which one is which, I have checked NTFS permissions I have checked and tested database connections and permissions.

I ctrl f5 my site and the system happily chugs away and returns with no errors (warnings that I am told can be ignored re requirePermission attribute).

It does not however add any tables to the site!  It seems to put all the required directory structure and files in place, but no tables in the database.

I have already built sites using SQL Express and have a client who is interested in trying out DotNetNuke.

I have searched the forums without any luck.
I have read the documentation.
I have googled for lots of different terms.

If I am missing something really obvious could someone please tell me, I know you might say RTFM, but Ihave and can't identify what might be going wrong.

I've posted here with little success before, could someone please help before I very reluctantly have to assign DNN to the bin and get back to Mambo.
