Hi all,

For about 5 days I have problems to install DNN 5.6.2 in my new laptop.
OS: Windows 7 pro
SQL Server Express 2008
Dnn 5.6.2.

I created my database
Setup my IIS
and when I type http://localhost/dnn, the installation scripts starts, I chose typical, file checks are OK, the installation scripts starts....

Installing Database - Version 5.00.00....Installing Database - Version 05.00.00  for hours....

What can be the reason of this?
Thanks for any help.

hi have found on the internet that we need ASP.NET 3.5. Does it also run with ASP.NET 4.0? Because I can't find 3.5 for 64bit.

You might want to check the SQL Express Configuration.
In Windows open Start --> All Programs --> SQL Express<version #> --> SQL Server Configuration Manager
Make sure you have the following ENABLED under "SQL Server Network Configuration" -
Shared Memory
Named Pipes
TCP/IP

Also, check to make sure you have the SAME local service account permissioned for your web folder and your IIS AppPool
Generally what you're experiencing is a SQL time out of some sort that prevents the scripts from starting/running and completing.

You may also want to look in your Windows Event Viewer to see if you have one or more error messages, probably SQL related, when the script "freezes" as you describe.

 Probably not finding ASP.NET 3.5 because it's superseded  by ASP.NET 3.5SP1 and now ASP.Net 4.0.
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=22 for ASP.NET3.51

DotNetNuke has run on ASP.NET v4.0 since the release of 5.3.0
