In the root of your website there is a file called web.config - please open this and look for "<compilation debug" -if the line looks like:
<compilation debug="true" strict="false">
change it to
<compilation debug="false" strict="false">

Sorry for the last thing, I meant to compare portals\_default\skins with portals\0\skins (and any other portals you may have e.g. portals\1\skins portals\2\skins etc.

My web.config shows <compilation debug="false" strict="false">

On the other part, I only have portals\0 and in there, a "skins" subdirectory does not exist.

Hello cathal connolly ,
I have the same problem, when i upgrade from 5.6 to 6.0.i try to change debug=false with same error.

i used another default skin.and before this error also i have another error in Telerik.i solve this problem by copy orginal Telerik.dll in bin folder from source folder.it work but in list error it come errors:

may be wrong way to solve this problem Telerik? but my protal work with new error ONE.when i click login link it come popup Login after type username and password it come error ONE.
Please help me to si=olve this problems.

Hassan,

Did you try Cathal's recommendation on comparing your web.config with the web.config from DNN 6 INSTALL package?  I don't think the upgrade code auto-merge works at this point, so you might want to do what I did.  Start with the new DNN 6 web.config file and merge in your site-specific differences.
