Hello,

All the IIS issues have been solved in this clean install. Windows 7 Ultimate, SQL Server 2008 R2, IIS 7.5, installing DNN 5.4.4

SQL Server server is set for Windows Authentication.
Added a db: DNN_540
Added a login: login name: dnn, pwd: dnnpassword
Login requires SQL Server Authentication

The database connection screen always cites the error:
Connection Error(s):
Index #: 0
Source: .Net SqlClient Data Provider
Class: 14
Number: 18456
Message: Sql login failed

No matter what I try, SQL Server never allows the connection.
I've recreated the db without adding a user and connecting as dbo, using integrated security, using SQL Server Authentication but can never establish a connection. I'd be here all day listing the various connections and security policy variations I've tried...

ANY POINTERS here?
This ought to be so straight forward after 100s of installs...

Thanks

OK, finally got a connection. SQL Server need(s)(ed) both Windows Authentication and SQL Server Authentication...

Another error:

When the installation tries to run through the sql scripts, I get this error:

Installing Database - Version 05.00.00...FAILURE 400 - The stored procedure 'dbo.UpdateDatabaseVersionAndName' doesn't exist.

Any help?

Thanks

Got it.

Set the user to db_owner. When adding the login in global security, the user as not set as db_owner, even though that is checked.
Just another thing to make sure of...
