I installed DotNetNuke 5.6.3 and tried to find a way to configure it.  It stated that you have to log in as admin or host to get more options to change your site.  After logging in as admin or host the menu bar will have admin or host on it and it will give you a drop down menu.  I tried each one but after I logged in as admin it did not put the admin on the menu bar next to home.  I tried to log in as host and it did not provide the host next to home.  I tried reinstalling but that did not work so I am not sure what to do next.  Was this because of a bad install or is there more configuration I need to do?  It did not give me any problems installing.  The install was to my local laptop and I did not include an SMTP server while installing because I did not have one to provide.  That let me go past the screen and install everything else.

This was on Windows 7 machine, 32-bit, and IIS 7

Hi Scott
I am certainly no expert, but as you have not received any other help I will suggest a couple of things.

Firstly, try different browsers, typically Chrome is usually the preferred one but when I upgraded to 06.00.02 this morning, the sub menus no longer appear on hover in Chrome but are fine in IE - I also like Opera which is also fine.

Secondly - you may have already tried this - instead of hovering and waiting for the sub menu items to appear, click Admin and then you will see each of the options on the admin page.

Hope this help, let me know!

Hello and thank you for your help but unfortunately it does not work.  I will explain.

The problem is not that I can't see the options of the Admin or Host menu options.  It is that I can't see the Admin or Host menu.  I mean when you log in as Admin you should see next to the Home menu an Admin menu in bold or the work Admin and I do not even see that.  I am using IE 8 which should work fine.  When I log in as admin it works.  I believe this covers the two things you mentioned.  Thanks for the response but this did not solve the problem I am having.
