As i said, there are PLENTY of DNN specific hosters OR low cost hosting companies that work OK with DNN (just ok, not great).

Like the ones advertized in here if you look at the right bottom.

 Ok, but for me is not an option to change my hosting service.
I don't know why DNN use the dbo schema, I think there is a good motivation,
but I saw a lot of users having my issue.

All the software i use (Classic ASP and NET) all create correctly the tables and stuff under the dbo owner. Apparently they are correct and your hoster is wrong.

If you hoster doesn't allow this, doesn't allow that, then he should do an other job. For sure. I can imagine what kind of service he offers.

But if you can't change hoster, then good luck.

 @lucaver,

The installation process is going to create tables and stored proc's in an empty database, so it has to run under an account that has dbo privileges in order to create those.

Your hosting provider should be able to set you up an empty SQL server DB, create a user with dbo privileges just for your DB, and give you those credentials in order for you to run the installation.

If they can't, wont, or don't know how, then Costas is correct, you should look at another hosting provider if you're seriously considering DNN or any other web based content/portal management system.

My hosting service is not very good, but the costs/quality ratio is good for me.
The problem is not that he can't give me the right permission, the problem is that he does not WANT to give me the right permission :(
I have not the dbowner permission, so I think I can't use the official DNN.

Luckily in Italy we have a modified version to avoid the restriction of this hosting service...
