Hi,

I have some problems with the DNN 6.1.3 running in .NET 4.

The site works fine in .NET 3.5 but when I change the site to run in .NET 4 I get some strange behaviors, one of them is this error message.

DotNetNuke Error

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

An error has occurred.DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.PageLoadException: A potentially dangerous Request.Form value was detected from the client (dnn$cp$RibbonBar$EditPage$SkinLst="<Use Default Site Sk..."). ---> System.Web.HttpRequestValidationException: A potentially dangerous Request.Form value was detected from the client (dnn$cp$RibbonBar$EditPage$SkinLst="<Use Default Site Sk..."). at System.Web.HttpRequest.ValidateString(String value, String collectionKey, RequestValidationSource requestCollection) at System.Web.HttpRequest.ValidateNameValueCollection(NameValueCollection nvc, RequestValidationSource requestCollection) at System.Web.HttpRequest.get_Form() at System.Web.HttpRequest.get_HasForm() at System.Web.UI.Page.GetCollectionBasedOnMethod(Boolean dontReturnNull) at System.Web.UI.Page.DeterminePostBackMode() at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

I did the change to .NET 4 as usual in IIS 7.5 (Win 2008 R2)(ASP.NET v4.0) Is this still the correct way to do it or has this changed in 6.1.3?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

please check your httpRuntime node in the web.config has requestvalidationmode= 2.0 - if you are running under .net 4.0 this is required to resolve a breaking change in .net 4.0. DotNetNuke will automatically do this so this indicates that either your permissions are wrong (i.e. DotnetNuke cannot change the web.config) or that the file is read-only

Hi Cathal,

You were right, it was a permission problem on the dnn folder, Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
