Hi,

I have been having issues installing DNN6+ on a shared hosting platform.

On 6.0.0 i could install the database and then it would prompt me for credentials (IIS style login box)

On 6.0.3 I cant even load the installer.

I believe this is due to permissions on app_data, i have spoken to our provider and they have informed me that as the write is being executed on start up impersonation hasn't kicked in and thus has no permissions to write.

This could be fixed by allowing access to the folder but as it's on a shared host other sites may be able to access my app_data folder.

Any work arounds?

the app_data folder is individual to your IIS website (it's not shared with other sites), so I recommend you apply the same permissions to that folder that you did to the other folders i.e. modify permissions for whatever user your website is running under
