Hi DDN fans.. I'm new on DotNetNuke experience i was trying to build some modules using DNN 4, Visual Studio 2005 and SQL express 2005 but it was very frustrating without having the right tools like some updated CodeSmith templates (there's still a lack of support for that new version).. well, that's not the issue here...

I'm returning to the DNN 3,30 because there's more support for it... But my question is if I'm gonna be able to keep using SQL Express 2005 for the data storage.. Is there any way.. I hope so.. Thanks in advance!!

You should be able to use SQL 2005 just like SQL 2000.

Do you know the truth when you hear it?

I'm using the following settings on my web.config file...

<add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Data Source=.\SQLExpress;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True;AttachDBFilename=|DataDirectory|DotNetNuke.mdf;" />

This is the connection string i' was using for conecting to SQL Express 2005 with DNN 4... I'm getting this error:

DotNetNuke Upgrade Error

The Assembly Version ( [ASSEMBLYVERSION] ) does not match the Database Version ( [DATABASEVERSION] )

ERROR: Could not connect to database.

An attempt to attach an auto-named database for file D:\DotNetNuke3\App_Data\DotNetNuke.mdf failed. A database with the same name exists, or specified file cannot be opened, or it is located on UNC share.

You must use SQL 2005 express like SQL 2000 - You need to attach the database before and work with a classic connection string. |DataDirectory| is a new ASP.NET 2.0 token.

The new sysntax only works with SQL 2005 express and ASP.NET2.0.
