Installed using the MS web platform installer and everything apparently went well.  Now what?  How to I work on the site locally?  LocalHost?  How do I view the site and log in and make changes?

This should not be this hard.  Thanks.

If you installed it with Web Platform Installer you likely would access the site by going to localhost/dotnetnuke though you may have changed that URL during the installation process. One way to check would be to go to IIS Manager (start>run>type INETMGR) and see what application you have listed under the default website, or perhaps you have additional websites created.

Nope.  Sorry.  That was no help.  Again, I downloaded a ton of files and followed all of the steps and succussfully installed DNN6 locally on my home computer.  Now I need to be able to work on the local DNN6 website, but I can't do that if I don't know where it is and how to open it.

I'm not going back to college to learn how to do this.  I have several DNN sites running on PowerDNN.

It can't be this hard.

It's not. You just need a little help.

Check IIS to see if there's an entry called "dotnetnuke". If so, highlight it and on the right side there should be a like that says "Browse.*.80 (http)" or something similar. Clicking that will launch DNN and then you can bookmark it.

Or, you can download and install MS Web Matrix. This will give you the option to install DNN and other open source projects and that keeps track of the URLs and all the files associated with them.

Give these a try and let us know how it goes.

THANK YOU!!  I installed MS WebMatrix and launched it and there was my site!  Walked through the configuration steps and I'm up and running.

The Creators need to include these final installation/configuration steps in their download instructions.

Thanks again to you and Chris for patiently walking me through this.
