Hello,

I am building out a new Hyper-V cluster.

Within this cluster I will have two IIS boxes on Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 running IIS

I currently have a DNN 5.X site that I stopped upgrading because the process was miserable due to the high probability of upgrade failure, unknow "upgradability status" of many different modules, etc.,. Unfortunately, this is my current production site.

I am thinking to start over with DNN6, build a new website and use no third party modules, thus eliminating any upgrade pains other than those caused by DNN itself.

I have two questions:

-Where can I find information about supported and most importantly tested high availability options (farms, clusters, ARR), etc.. and if possible, some kind of deployment guide. After an hour or so of googling, I am empty handed and I have to assume that no web platform would be without high availability deployment options these days.

- As I have only one external IP address, I see no way around bringing my old DNN site (5.x) to the new servers. The existing server is also IIS7 so I assume that I can pretty much XCOPY deploy it?. Are there any compatibility issues  with havintg DNN6 plus an older version of DNN on the same server?

Has anyone tried provisioning a DNN 6 installation using the Web Farm Framework 2.2 for IIS?

Hi Berney,

The DotNetNuke wiki does have a article which provides documentation for using DNN in a web farm environment. You can read it and download a PDF at the following: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Wiki/Page/Webfarms.aspx

 Hope that helps!
