I have just uploaded the files by ftp and hit the site and get the error
Parser Error Message: Could not load type 'DotNetNuke.Common.DotNetNukeHttpApplication'.
Source Error:
Line 1: <%@ Application Inherits="DotNetNuke.Common.DotNetNukeHttpApplication" Language="C#" %>
Source File: /global.asax Line: 1

I am using 6.1.4 install edition, but have tried several other versions.  I have tried giving extra write permissions.

Before extracting the files from the install zip archive package did you "unblock" the package by right clicking on the downloaded zip folder, select properties from the context menu then click "Unblock" button? If not Windows security will prevent certain files (scripts, assemblyies) from being extracted/executed.

Please confirm that the assembly dotnetnuke.dll is found in the site's /bin folder after FTP to the server.

Also, is the ASP.Net version running in the server's application pool at least ASP.Net 3.5 SP 1 or ASP.Net 4.0 ?

Hi Bill

Thankyou for your reply

The Unblock button is not display in the zip properties, which I gather means it is not blocked; The file dotnetnuke.dll is in the bin directory on the site; and I am using asp.net 4.0.
