What is the best way to back up your DNN site? I have read some web pages on this but I'm still confused and don't think I'm doing it correctly. When I installed DNN, a folder named My Web Sites was stored in my documents as was a folder called IISExpress.

Are these two folders the only thing that I need to store on another device/memory stick when I'm backing up my DNN site?

Also, when I access my DotNetNuke site, I go to my Microsoft WebMatrix program and open the link to my DNN site. Suppose I have DNN installed on another computer. How could I move my website onto that computer and continue working on it there? I tried taking the 2 folders to the other machine and then accessing it through my Microsoft WebMatrix but it wouldn't work.

I would use SQL Management Studio to backup the database and zip all files. If you needed to use a other domain (URL) add first the new URL to your Sites settings.

Restore the sql backup file using the SQL Management Studio on the other computer.  Extract the zip file to the new DNN Folder you created.  Make sure you set the correct physical folder permissions and inherits it to all sub folders and files.  Setup your IIS.
