Well, I am running into connectivity problems. I created the portal, copied the website files, copied the database files again (just to make sure), setup the iis directory (with the website files copied from the other server) as an application, changed web.config to use ./SQLSERVER and am not able to connect -- getting a 500.19 when I try to bring up http://localhost/dnnportalname. (http://localhost is fine). Is this because of using Windows Authentication for the SQLSERVER? I kept the old uid & password fields the same in web.config.

a 500.19 indicates a malformed configuration file i.e. the web.config - check how you made the edits as it would suggest you've mistyped

Thanks for your help, Cathal. The problem wasn't in the config file . . . there were a number of things I needed to correct in the SQL Server and IIS but I got it figured out. :-) I'm having another problem now tho but it probably belongs in a new thread.
