Hi

I'm looking for a company to host my DNN and was thinking about hostgator & seekdotnet, does anybody have experience hosting with them? obviously if you can suggest another company that will be great.

I'll be using DNN 6 community edition and doesn't expect that much traffic (around 20 visits daily) but the uptime is important and a "keep alive" service would be a nice feature. Also, I'll be transfering from 1and1 (stay away from them, 1 day offline in a month).

So, what experiences do you have? where are you hosting your applications? when was the last time you were offline?

Thanks for your replies!

I'm using the hosting of powerdnn (www.powerdnn.com), there servers are optimezed for DNN including a free keepalive service and daily optimizing service. They have a good service and the prices are compatible ( first year $61 next year $20 each month). Including 1 GB database and unlimited bandwith.

Hello George,

With any hosting provider you will want to ask them a few questions.

1.) How do they install DotNetNuke? Is it as a portal of a single installation, are the root web files put directly in the httpdocs or wwwroot directory, etc. Know the environment.

2.) Do they have 24/7/365 live support, and what are the response SLAs? Some providers only give you access to email support on a 24 hour SLA, but advertise 24/7/365 support.

These are a few things that I have seen in my experience, and I can guarantee you that PowerDNN exceeds expectations when it comes to a hosting provider.

Again though, don't be afraid to ask these questions of any host you plan on going with, it's your business, and they want it.
