You have to use the Latin1_General_CI_AS collation.

Can this be set at Database level, or does it have to be at server level? I am getting the same error as the person in this thread. Have tried setting Latin1_General_CI_AS for the db, but still get the error. Don't want to rebuild the master db as I have other development on this SQL instance.

Ok, the answer is the SERVER collation has to be set to Latin1_General_CI_AS. The reason is that there are numerous Stored Procs in the SQLDataProvider scripts that will not run in without CI set as they contain variables with mismatched cases. IMO this ought to be cleaned up. I have wasted a lot of time trying to track down the reason for this error, as did Reza.
