I have followed the Plesk installation guidelines from readme.txt in the documentation folder as well as those
in this post:
http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/F...

In short:
Download ZIP file, right click and unblock, extract.
Create virtual directory "dnn" with write permissions enabled.
Upload all files into this directory
Set permissions to "Full Control" for IUSR_XXX and IWAM_plesk.
Administrators and plesk domain user already have full control.
Create database and user.

Now when I navigate to /dnn OR /dnn/Install OR /dnn/Install/InstallWizard.aspx, I get a 404 error.

I have verified the files exist through my FTP program. An "index.html" file successfully displays in the root directory.

I have attempted this with professional edition 6.2.0, but had no luck, so I am now trying with professional edition 5.4.4. I don't know how to find out what Plesk version I have, but I know it isn't the current one as it still has "File manager" in domain's page.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what else I can try to get the install to start? I'm willing to pay someone a small amount to perform an install.

If you have a Plesk Hosting ask your hoster what version they used for your server. Ask him on what folder level you could change the permissions.
The hoster can modify the permissions of the plesk application, so it could be different from the basic install of Plesk!

Also ask him how the database would created, basicly the database creates as dbo with the sa as login and you have to create a dabase own user who gets its own database schema with its username. This database Schema of your database user have to be set as the databaseOwner in your web.config file!

The IWPD_User must have change, execute, write and read permissions on the root folder and inherhit to all subfolders and files! The IUser must have readpermissions, and additional execute permissions if you did not have dbo as your databaseOwner!

On Plesk 10 you have to create a DNN folder on the httpdocs folder and then link the domain to use this folder as your root folder.

Plesk 9.5 have a methode to set higher permissions so you also could change them on the root folder, but it want remove on Plesk 10!

Older Plesk only works with a virtual folöder, and you could not start the site from Domain root! You have to use the META settings to forward to the virtual directory.

Thanks Matthias,

It turns out the problem was accessing the site via a preview domain. Neither of the following worked:
http://[IP address]/$sitepreview/[domain name]/install/install.aspx
http://subdomain.[host's domain name]/

I have delegated my domain name and am currently stepping through the install wizard.
