Hello everyone,

My employer wants me to install dotnetnuke on a NAMES.CO.UK server.
The problem is that they offer only medium trust level access and i'm having troubles installing dotnetnuke, i receive an error saying that there is a permission issue with the folder app_data.
Its been 2 years that i use DNN and that's the first time i see this kind of issue.
So if anyone had this issue before please advice me, i'm struggling to find a solution and if i get there i surely update my post and share.

Regards
Andy

Andy,

Medium trust level should be OK, but sometimes, third-party modules do not support it. Access to the folder app_data does not conflict with medium trust restrictions afaik.

Anyway: You should not use SQL Server Compact Edition (mdf file) on a production environment, but switch to SQL Server Express or Web Edition. It is quite easy to attach the file used so far...

Back to your problem: Did you check the permissions on the file system? The account that runs the AppPool needs modify rights for the whole DNN installation.

Best wishes
Michael
