I have tried this 2 times and it gives the same error every time when I try upgrade from 561 to 622.

The only error below you see is : "Installing Package File DDRMenu_02.00.02_Install: Error!"  during upgrade.

Then when I click on "Click Here To Access Your Site" I get Object reference not set to an instance of an object see bottom of the page..

Can someone advice what the problem could be? 

My website is not accesible anymore. Is there a way to access my website (outside restore/backup)?

I would recommend trying to install the DDR menu manually before upgrade to see if you can get a detailed error message about the failure, then diagnose what to fix before the upgrade.

Hi,

I had the same error on a portal that used a skin with DDR menu 1.x. After trying for a long time I got the solution and wrote a blog entry in German (English translation by Google - screenshots are not translated, but you should get the idea).

Please check if any lower version of DDR menu is installed before you try this, and please try it on a testing environment first.

@Chris: That was one of the steps I was trying, too - the problem was that DDR menu 2.x did not work with the DNN 5 version, and also lead to an error.

PS: Very funny! Google translates "DDR menu" with "East German menu" and "GDR menu" - "DDR" was the German abbreviation for GDR - German Democratic Republic. LOL!

I looked at my host/extensions and found this information about DDR

In my DNN CE 561 is installed version 0.9.3 and it's not in use....

so do I need to download and install version 02.00.01 - DNN 5.5.0 and above (.NET 3.5) and then try upgrade again?????

But it says not in in USE (see last column below), how can I be sure that this DDR is causing the problem?

The Extensions page is telling you that the DDRMenu Module is not being used, but DDRMenu also includes a skinobject which is used in many skins.  

Can you post a copy of your main skin ascx and then we can tell you if it is safe to delete DDRMenu.
