If this is your own server (no hosting of clients), I suggest using Network Service account instead of ApplicationPoolidentity.

Sebastian, I have owed you a reply for several days now...

It turns out that the reason for the problem I was having was that I had decided to see what DNN would do if I set it up in SQLEXPRESS as a "normal" instance, not the "default" instance.

Long story short, I had to (once again) perform a SYSTEM RECOVERY on my laptop, since DNN quit working, for all practical purposes, once I couldn't access the database.mdf file.

I cost me a weeks worth of work and time, but now, YES, I know not to do that again.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND FOR YOUR HELP.
