Another suggestion would be to install Evotiva's Backup module on your old site and use that to get a copy of both the database and web directory.  Use the scripted version of the database.

Not guaranteed, but I've had great success using this module on sites where access to the SQL server was difficult or impossible.  You can also use the same module to move the copy up to your new host.
