Jeff Parker

This thread moved on to migrating between versions.

Did you find a solution for your problem?

When I try to edit a page a blank pop up screen appears then it goes to home page.

I can check “View in Layout Mode” the same thing happens but can not check stay in edit mode.

In admin page management, add existing modules behaves the same.

I am doing virgin 7.01.02 install on Dedicated Server 2008 standard, have IIS 7 app pool Pipeline mode: Integrated, SQL 2012 Express, File permission OK.

I have been running DNN for > 5 years & this has been the biggest problem.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Lee

Have you unblock the upgrade package before you extract them?  Is you database compatibility Level on 110 or higher?  Did you use CDN jQuery/jQueryUI or hosted, or have your Skin a own jQuery/jQueryUI loaded?

Are you run .NET 4.x ?

Have you tried a Default Skin (e.g. Gravity)?

Thanks to everyone who participated in this thread.  Here are my discoveries which lead to a solution for 'Edit' mode not available for our portal dnn7.1.2.

We had started a new module which is based on SignalR.  When the SignalR package was installed within the project file and later published to dev, a newer version of the  Newton.Json.dll was included(  V.6.0.4) .  After publishing, we attempted to produce edits, those attempts would fail with a 404 error.   When the Newton.json was replaced with the  original (in our case version 5.0.8)  the edit mode feature using the 'controlbar' returned.  All is gold again.

Cheers
