I've been running/building/testing dotnetnuke on an internal server. Now is the time to load the site to a new IP address live. I haven't set the domain name as I'm not ready, just wanted to ensure that everything will work 'live'.

The server was backup and restored, the site uploaded, the config file editing with new settings but the portal will not display. Will dotnetnuke not work on a dynamic email address?

thanks in advance

Add every possible IP, domain, subdomain as a http alias on the portal you want displayed (before you move the DB/wwwroot or you will have a *small* login problem)

Edit your Skin.xml and Container.xml files with:

I'm sorry I didn't expand on my explanation, the web page doesn't even display. I can get a static page but no aspx page. It would seem the database is not connecting or the portal alias is not happy.

After upload I specified the IP address in the database, but I still can't get the the site to load. I then specified an IP address then a name, that is working, but I don't want to use the name.

Since I can access the site now on my work around I have specified the IP address (number only) on the portal alias from the web pages, but the site still will not display using the IP address only.

Am I missing something, or installed incorrectly?
