Hi,

Today I've installed DNN 4.3.1. Everyting went smoothly but when I try to login as host or admin, I get no errormessage, return to the mainpage, but no menus for admin or host. When I use different credentials I get a errormessage, so I suppose because I see no errormessage, that I'm actually logged in....

Somebody an idea what's wrong? Why are there no menus or panes to add pages, modules etc..?

Thanks!

Similar issue here.

Just installed DNN 3.3.1. There was no error messages durning installation sequence, the default site came up, however, I am unable to log in with either of the default logins. host/host or admin/admin

I get a "Login Failed, remember that Passwords are case sensitive" error.

Any one have the resolution to this.

It was also interesting to see that there was a web.config in the install zip. I thought that this file was no longer included and the process was to edit and then rename the release.config.

Thanks,

Pat

Please note, both 3.3.1/4.3.1 are release candidates, so they're still not 100% there. In both cases, the minimum password length has been changed to 7, so the default username/passwords are not admin/dnnadmin & host/dnnhost , to ensure they comply with portal policy

Pat, with these versions we created *install and *upgrade packages. The main difference with the *install is that as you do not risk overwriting an existing install, we can ship with a web.config, rather than shipping only with a release.config, to ensure the user doesn't overwrite their existing web.config and lose their unique keys. Despite the documentation, and numerous forum posts, we found that many newbies did not rename the web.config, so this was done to cut down on support requests.
