HI I am pretty inexperienced at using DNN but I have a website and a hosted datebase (not local). I have also managed to Install DNN 6.0.03 last year.  Now I want to upgrade.  The DNN upgrade video is not working so I can't access that.   Each time I try to upgrade to DNN 7 my system sees the old 6.01.03 files.  I guess I have to delete them but I dont know how and not even sure where it is seeing them.  Can anyone help.  I find the videos a bit confusing because I have a hosted SQL database and they dont really explain what needs to be done and what doesnt in these circumstances.  I have mostly figured it out.  Done the file permissions, IIS etc.  This is what is says when I try to launch the wizard:  DotNetNuke Upgrade - Version 06.01.03  It should say Version 7 surely?  THen it says:  Current Version - 06.01.03 Welcome to the DotNetNuke Upgrade Page.   The dates all correspond to the installation last year so I know it is looking at the wrong files. I would be grateful for help and suggestions.  Many thanks.

1) Back-up your website before attempting an upgrade.
2) Download the upgrade package
3) Unzip it to the root of your website and overwrite any existing files
4) Load the home page of your website to start the upgrade process

You may have to provide the host ID and password but everything else should be easy, including the database. It doesn't matter if it's local or remote.

And, if not already done so, do check out the new pre-requisites of DNN 7 http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/W...

Is the SQL Server 2008 requirement absolute? Our webhost have no plans to upgrade from 2005 yet.

I haven't tried it myself, but I would expect that the installation or upgrade would fail
