Hi,

I use DNN 6.1.5.

Suddenly my website is very slow.
It has a load time of -+ 15 seconds.
I have tested this with webpagetest.org
This test says that there are 3 things who are taking lots of time to load.
: making contact the first time with the database = 13055 miliseconds
: webresource.axd = 12070 miliseconds
: webresource.axd = 12157 miliseconds

What are these webresource.axd files?
Are these files from DNN or from the server?

Somebody has a solution or can tell me more about this and what to do about that?

With regards, Ton Hermes

Webresource.axd is an ASP.Net handler for embedded resources in an assembly. Depending on the type of resource (mostly some JavaScript, but all file types are possible) this may be big. If you run in debug mode, this can slow down your website dramatically.

Ton,

what happened before the server went slow? Did you install anything on the server, did you upgrade your site...?

If nothing: Maybe recycling the App Pool and/or restarting the SQL Server could help...

Best wishes

This is a very handy checklist for DNN performance best practices:

If nothing on the box or app has changed, I'd start with clearing out the event log and site log.
