Just to let everyone know that the problem was due to errors in my web.config file.

I needed to rename the new release.config file to web.config and add my previous changes to this file..

However the admin login no longer works ..has this changed ?

Ray

The admin or host login does not work?  Are you using the corredt password for a clean install (admin/dnnadmin, host/ddnhost)?

I think you have been misled a tad. During my trying to make it work testing, I found that if you deleted the DB and re-ran the install, the installer starts resuming and skipping the module install that caused problems. What you have to actually do is delete the dir with the scripts and start DB & Scripts from clean or else it resumes the install sort of and no users get setup, and I don't know what else DB things don't get completed.

I thought I was getting somewhere as well but I ended up figuring out it skipped many of the modules I already completed previously and that none of my logins etc worked.

I think something is definately borked with the installer but not sure what. It always fails for me on the forum module install with the Threading aborted error.
