Hi all,

I installed a fresh copy of W2K3 with IIS and .NET framework 2.0 and SQL server 2005 express. I downloaded the DNN 4.3.2 and unzipped it and made a new website through IIS named DotNetNuke.  Set the permissions for the Network Service to full controll.

I open the page http://localhost and the site starts to build itself, after a while I get to go to my portal and everything seems to be working just fine. I move the VMware to the right hostserver and I'am still able to open the site through http://www.divedandsurvived.nl (www is the alias for that server) everything looking good, changed passwords and even installed new skin and container.

From my work I try to open the site http://www.divedandsurvived.nl but I receive the following:

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Most likely causes:

  • You are not connected to the Internet.
  • The website is encountering problems.
  • There might be a typing error in the address.

When I open http://www.divedandsurvived.nl/500.htm (standard page which comes with the installation) just for test purposes and its ok??

What did I forget?

Regards,

Rene Kok

Did you add www.divedandsurvived.nl as alias inside DNN? (Admin->Site Settings->Portal alias)

Hi Stefan,

Thanks for your fast reply, but no I didn't yet. But do you tink this would work? because within my network the site works fine and its only from outside where's the proproblem appears.

I'll try your sollution when I get back to that server.

Regards,

René
