Evoq 8 is a distribution with a couple of modules and other extensions, built on top of DNN 7.4.0

But what I see in the Demo, it is looks completely different. It has got the control/admin panel at Left (unlike at top).

Since, the Core is expected to be same, I presume, all these exciting features is available in DNN Platform too.

Jaydeep,

The side Persona Bar is a custom extension like any other module.  It does not replace any functionality but extends DNN with custom functionality that is targeted at a specific market segment.  Many vendors include their own UI implementations to extend the platform in new and interesting ways. DNN Look from DNNSharp is a great example of one such implementation.

In this release of Evoq they felt that the changes they were making warranted a version change to 8.0.  This reflects new features, some changes in naming and how features are bundled.  The DNN Platform did not go through as drastic a change and didn't warrant the same type of version number change.  The version numbers for both DNN Platform and Evoq will continue to evolve at different rates just as Windows and MS Office do not share the same version numbers.

I only hope,

1) The DNN Core of all the versions, MUST remain same

2) There should be a better default theme (and necessary extensions, if needed), in the DNN Platform
