HI

We have a new client. they are on "citynetwork.se" Sweden Hosting Provider Company. We Unzip DNN 7.4 Install Package and Copy DNN 7.4 files and folders to Public_html_ root folder via FTP account.

We Add new Database and user by administrator panel on host account. Then We Load domain "http://childf.se/default.aspx" but we got an error:

Server Error in '/' Application.

Runtime Error

Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
    <system.web>
        <customErrors mode="Off"/>
    </system.web>
</configuration>

Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
    <system.web>
        <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/>
    </system.web>
</configuration>

I contact to Support of hosting company and I asked Add Full Control Permission for "Network Service" and "IIS_User" but they told me if you want hacked We can do it. and they don't accept to add these permissions to DNN root  folder.

Help me how can I Install it? I don't have any remote access to Dedicated server and this is windows host only.

This message is the one IIS serves when it is set to not display errors. You might try temporarily disabling custom errors in your web.config file so that you can see exactly what's happening.

dnn requires asp.net to have full read/write access to you website root directory - but the error you are seeing may not even relate to that issue - follow the steps in the link page to setup your web.config so that you can actually what the error is (EDIT web.config and add the markup suggested)

Dear wes
Mean of Read/Write is Full Control Permission for "Network Service" on root folder of my Portal?

Also you mean I have to Change Web.config details manually? like adding manually connection string? Because before I just Add New database and copy all files and start to opening website. it was coming automatically install wizard.

Is there any link to help me step by step and solving the problem?

Armin,
you need to grant permission to the Windows user specified in IIS AppPool, your website resides in.
On shared hosting, this is usually NOT Network Service, but AppPool Identity or an individual Windows user created.
You need to grant edit permission to this windows user.

Cheers from Germany,
