The version that's available on the gallery is 7.3.2 Platform. I've tried numerous times to install DNN from the Azure Website Gallery but DNN seems to have problems installing onto SQL Azure.

Installation always stops at 3:45 at around 18%, which is "Applying Upgrade Scripts" (7.00.03 or 7.01.00). When I click on See Logs, it shows "No Installation Log". When I connect to the SQL Azure server and check the database where the installation was made, I see a number of tables generated.

Has anyone encountered the same issue? Any input or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have noticed this also. It seems that sometimes DNN initial setup is very slow when the site is set to 'Free or shared' in Azure website settings. If you set it to 'Standard' before you run setup but after you created the site from the galary you should be fine. You can always change back to 'free or shared' after you have finished the initial installation. I have seen also slowness with importing and exporting a DNN database when the SQL instance is set to Basic.

BTW, did you know in Azure the initial installation is on 7.3.2 and the current is 7.4? You can change this easily by FTP-ing into the folder where the installation files are and delete everything and upload 7.4. Also put all modules in the folder "Install\Module" and as soon as setup has finished all your modules are installed also...that is a very quick way of getting up and running!

The slowness issue is caused by throttling that Microsoft does on the free and shared levels of the service.  This can be problematic during install, but should not impact you too much for a small site during operation.

Also, we have been having some issue getting packages loaded into the App Gallery.  It finally looks like whatever the issues were with Microsoft's servers have been resolved and the 7.4.0 packages should go live in the next couple of days.
