I rent a dedicated/managed server and provide the hosting for my web customers (nothing major, about 30 sites with little traffic).  I would like to utilize DNN.  Just wondering if there are any links/documents that you can point me to which describe the setup/installation/configuration of DNN and IIS 6 on W23K from a Host point of view.  The documentation I have read seems to be geared more to "developers" running under "localhost".  The grand plan is to run multiple DNN installs.  Also, not all WebSites to be hosted will be created using DNN (if that makes a difference)

Have you downloaded the documentation package from the main downloads page of this site, and read DotNetNuke Installation Guide.pdf?  It details the procedures for that environment quite nicely, including file and directory permissions, etc.

Of course!

As I said, "The documentation I have read seems to be geared more to "developers" running under "localhost"".  The installation document also uses the term "local intranet" quite often.

If installing DNN from a Hosting Provider point of view is the same, then no problem.  However, based on the numerous install problems posted in these forums, I was thinking there might be something more to it.

Another question (bear with me as I am new to all things in Web development).

If I navigate to www.mydomain.com/testing.aspx, how does IIS determine which DNN installation should process the request or that www.mydomain.com is even a site under DNN control?

If you have multiple DNN installations, you can set each one up as a separate site in IIS and then use host headers to allow IIS to differentiate which goes where.  Of course, you also must also enter the aliases into the properties for the portal in DNN.

One more thing I should add to that...configure each DNN installation to have its own app pool as well.
