I need to move an existing 5.02.03 site to Windows server 2012 and upgrade it to version 7.

The steps I intend to do are

1. Install 5.02.03 on windows server 2012

2. Move the existing application to this server

3. Upgrade 5.02.03 - 5.04.04 - 5.06.08 - 6.02.08 - 07.03.02

I have been trying to install 5.02.03 on windows server 2013

I have got as far as the installing sql scripts screen. This screen just hangs.

I have checked the logs and the only error which is reported is

System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Could not find stored procedure 'dbo.GetLanguages'.

This error is repeated many times in the log

I am using sql server with sql authentication and the installation was able to successfully connect to the database on the previous screen (configure data connection)

If you look in the database, did it install *any* stored procedures?

Thanks for your response.

The install application wasn't creating anything in the database.

I eventually got around this and got DNN to install.

It was a permissions problem with the sql server. When I clicked to connect as database owner it still failed but after doing this I could do an auto install instead.

Why are you installing 5.2.3 fresh if you are trying to upgrade an instance? I would start by "restoring" the existing instance to Windows 2012, then test your upgrades.

 Thanks for your reply

I'm new to dnn. I now realise that there is no need for an initial install of dnn.

I should move the existing installation to windows server 2012 and then apply the updates to it.
