Hi all,

Thanks for taking a moment to help me out.

I'm trying to get DNN installed and this WebMatrix looks like it could be a smooth process..

I was trying to follow some of the tutorial videos but it appears that some of them are outdated, looks like the latest was 2013. This seems to be the most current one that I could find.

Anyhow I installed the Web Platform Installer 5.0, it appears to have installed
Microsoft WebMatrix 3, Microsoft .NET framework 4.5.1,
SQL Server Express 2008 R2 Service Pack 2, IIS Express (Windows Vista and up) Or IIS 7.5 Express (Windows XP)- August 2012,|
Windows PowerShell 3.0,
IIS 7.5 Express,
 and other various .NET and IIS elements.
 I then went to 'Applications' and hit 'Add' DNN Platform, then 'Install', Accepted and waited to download, and it came up with a:

"DNN Successfully Installed" message, I hit finish.. then an error.

"WebMatrix cannot start because it depends on the Microsoft Web Platform Installer, which cannot be found. Please install the latest version of the Web Platform Installer and then restart WebMatrix."

But I thought I had the most recent version, 5.0?

Any ideas?

this is very strange. Do you plan to use webmatrix for module development - otherwise I suggest installing DNN using nVQuickSite tool (http://www.nvquicksite.com/)
