I am shopping, thankfully, because I am looking for options other than the excellent one I have now, and am testing the waters with DNNMart and SmarterASP.  DNNMart isn't as polished an operation as I would like but at least the site is up and running and its support staff seem to know what they are doing.  SmarterASP is more polished but darn if I can't get the sandbox site I moved over there up and running.  Some of the technical stuff I am hearing just isn't right and I am about to pay them to do it for me.

Who is using these providers and what is your opinion of their support background?  I like where I am and can see why they cost more but not as much more as they are charging, so I am looking at options.

Thanks!

JoAnn

I just ditched SmarterASP.  I think the immediate problem was an IIS set up but when I offered to pay them to get it setup (they get $50 to bring in another site), they said they weren't DNN experts and to contact the site admin.  Well, we all know I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer but I can set up a DNN site from scratch and do weekly refreshes of my local copy from a backup of the live site, not to mention that I was able to deploy it to DNNMart successfully.

Unless I hear otherwise, we are probably going to DNNMart.  Our current setup is paid through July so I have more time to run DNNMart through its paces.

I've used DNNMart with good results and would recommend.

The best I've found for DNN, outside Managed.com, is Hosted Appliance (http://www.hostedappliance.net).  The are in the middle of a name change and you can find them now at https://www.rebel-ist.com/.

You might check them out too.

Hi JoAnn,

Have you check asphostportal? I host my DNN site with them. I never try above providers, but as I know SmarterASP is new hosting provider, they really put effort in advertising their business, they grow very fast which is great. But, I dont know how they maintain their server. With asphostportal, the price seems higher, but they offer reliable service which I like.

If you want full control, and feel you have the skills/inclination to manage it, grab an AWS instance and mange it yourself.

It will run om smaller instances, but I like the t2.medium for the RAM.

Best wishes,
