i want to install more than one DNN in one databae and i like to know how many options i have?
In other applications like DNN you can define define prefix for each portal's tables.
I looked over web.config file but could not find there either.

Thanks you

It's called objectQualifier and you can set it in the dataprovider section.

please notice, that the aspnet tables of the MS membership provider don't get prefixed and will be shared amongst the istallations.

Hi Farhad,
Although the object qualifier capability is a great feature in DNN, I would high recommend moving with caution when dealing with it.  Once you have the sites fused together, it is virtually impossible to cleanly separate them.  Depending on the type of site your building, that may be fine, but if there is ever the possibility that you might want to hand off one of the sites to someone else, I'd say be doubley-doubley sure that you'd be OK with them knowing about everything in all the sites in the DB.

MobileNow,

I don't get what you are saying. I think the objectQualifier is meant to seperate the tables from each installation.

So installation 1 has objectQualifier inst1 and  installation 2 has objectQualifier inst2

Then in the database you will see two Portals tables : inst1_Portals and inst2_Portals

Are you maybe mistaken with running two or more Portals from one database (using a different portalalias) ?
