Hi,
I'm desperetely trying to get DNN working....
I did install 4.3.1, 4.3.2 and now 4.0.3.

I went throught every kind of setup. In the end I was successfull with the Starter Kit.

On each version I've tried I got the same result.
I'm not able to login from most of the computers I have in my company.

Please help me!! I really want to have a working DNN.....

Thanks in advance for any help
Regards

Can you be more specific? Through some computers you CAN login to DNN, but others you cannot? What are you hosting it on -- Windows XP Pro?

What errors do you get during the install? Folder permissions are the most common problem.

Did you add a portal alias for the URL you wish the portal to answer.  DNN only installs as localhost and as such will only answer as localhost.  If you want it to answer to something else, for instance, www.mycomputer.com Then you have to add that URL to the portal alias.

Hi, thanks for replying.
That's correct! Through some computers I can login to DNN, through some other NOT. Finally Yes, I'm hosting DNN in a Windows XP Professional SP2 with IIS 5.1. Yes this a known problem?
Thanks again & Regards

Hi, thanks for your answer.

I noticed that the first alias are created at the time of the first run (DNN install mode). My DNN stays on a LAN and must be accessible mostly using the computer name ( http://computername/dnn ).

I've run the first install as localhost and then I add the computer name as alias but this doesn't fix my problem.

I've also tried installing using directly the computername with the result that the server browser can't login anymore (probably I have to insert localhost as alias now...).

How can I debug what's happening? I tried to use the Log Viewer to determine if the server receive the login, and Yes, looks like this. Is this a DNS problem? Or it's something with Windows XP Pro SP2 & IIS 5.1.

Any suggestion are very welcome.

Thanks again
Regards
