Another Update: It seems as though the RSS Forums problem is known about and I will turn off the RSS Feeds (the core ones are off to)

Documents/File Manager: My users can't download any modules from the Documents modules and I found this post here that explains that you need to enable role access on folders. However, I can't get to the Folder to do this as I have no list of Folders in my File Manager! Any suggestions on how to get my folders back (All files seems to be in root but they are definitely in sub folders)

Lists: I go to my Hosts\Lists and I have no lists. I use a lot in my Smart-Thinker modules and there are none showing? Is this correct?

Hello,

I'm having a bit of a nightmare on Smart-Thinker.com. I upgraded to 4.3.3 about an hour ago, and I have the following issues.

1) I can't upload modules. I am trying to upload my new Smart-Thinker HomePage module for 4.3.3 (works fine on Dev 4.3.3 site). I get to Module Definitions and click on Upload and add the module to the textbox, but when I click on upload it goes back the module list page. I got it working once and haven't been able to upload again. I tried in FF and IE. This is a major problem. I have no error in my error log when this occurs.

I thought it may be related to the Blowery compression so I removed all compression text from my web.config and the .dlls (ISharp and Blowery) from the \bin dir. The site now loads (running incredible slowly) but still can't upload. (as per this post)

2) When I am logged in as host, I am getting this error on my HTML/Text modules:

Message: DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at DotNetNuke.NavigationControl.SolpartMenuNavigationProvider.Bind(DNNNodeCollection objNodes) at DotNetNuke.UI.WebControls.SolPartActions.BindMenu(DNNNodeCollection objNodes) at DotNetNuke.UI.WebControls.SolPartActions.Page_PreRender(Object sender, EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

The site is running dreadfully slowly, but I'll enable compression once this is all working again...

Can someone help please? Also, this is on Smart-Thinker.com, so please excuse the state it is in - I really don't want to roll back to my 3.2.0 backup and I want to move forwards...

Well I install and besides the file manager bug, its running a lot faster. Im very impressed.

But... for your issue, i dont know the solution but maybe I can help brainstorm, sorry best I can do.

1) are you absolutely sure, you copied everything?

2)can you make a duplicate of your site and test the install locally?

3)My first thoughts are a third party product,  can you test on a local install without any third party product then slowly add them one by one

4)Are  you sure, your web.config is good?

All I know is as I read in another post, the upgrade doesn't install the new versions of any core modules. You have to installs those after, apparently, which seems like it would cause the whole portal to crash.

- Check your windows app logs to see if your app pool is producing errors.
- run the sql profiler on sp's to check for clues.

Thanks for your answers - the web.config was a new one, and there really is nothing else dodgy I can think of. There just seems to be no documentation on this stuff and very little answers.

Unfortunately it looks like I am going to have to roll back tomorrow as I have customers wanting to download modules and the document module is not showing anything...

I'll leave it a few months and wait for the next stable version.

26th/7 Update: The Folders problem seems to be the core of the problem as it prevents my user's downloading anything (the other problems I cold live with for a few days.

I tried running these SQL scripts from Scott's dogfooding blog posts part 1 and 2, but none of my folders had double trailing slashes and it all seemed like legit data. So still can't see folders...
