DNN:
DNN 4.3.4

SCENARIO:
- I have Admin rights on my DNN site.
- My ISP hoster as Host rights on the entire DNN server.

ISSUE:
As an Admin, I want to add a custom module or 3thd party module to my site. However it seems that Host privileges are required to add module definitions to a site/server. My hoster does NOT want to upload modules themselves to the DNN server (due to potential security issues, etc)

QUESTION:
Is there a way that I can add modules as a (non-host) Administrative user on my site? I'd love to have them available to my site only, ideally in a sandbox environment so they can not comprimise security on the entire DNN box.

Thanks and kind regards,
GunBee.

Sorry, I should've been clearer in my explanation.

The issue I'm facing is that my provider does not give me Host permissions, but just Admin permissions.
Now I've purchased a third party DNN module component (Ultra Photo Gallery) that I would like to use in my DNN site - and only in my site.

As I'm having only Admin rights and no Host rights, is there a way that I can still use/upload this module as an Admin?

Thanks and kind regards,
GunBee.

You must be s super user to add modules. If you need this functionality then you will need to get a normal Asp.Net hosting account and take total control over your DNN installation. There are quite a few hosts around that support this at a fairly cheap price.

No, because modules always affect security of the whole installation.

Ok, that makes sense. Thanks for the answers & clarifications!

Not too many hosters mention these "Host privileges" in their DNN hosting offerings however.
Can anyone recommend me a hoster that provides DNN hosting with HOST privileges?

I really need Host privileges because I want to upload 3thd party modules and my own custom modules.

Thanks for your help and kind regards,
GunBee.
