Hi

I am using DNN 4.3.4 - I can use it with SQL2000 and SQL Express without any issue. I am now trying to update conn string to use an Access 2003 DB.

Has anyone done this as I am having some problems. I have added the Access DB to the app_data directory and changed conn string but am not getting any joy as yet.

I want to do it this way as I do not have a SQL database available on my webspace so want to try it with Access.

Any help much appreciated :)

Thanks

C

you need an MS Access Dataporvider (for the Core Framework and all modules) - but AFAIK you will need to write it on your own, there is no one around. You need a webspace with sql server support.

Thanks for the response - does anyone out there have any examples of this dataprovider?

I'm thinking it might be easier to buy an sql server database from my host...

Thanks again.

there is an oracle provider available at snowcowered as well as a dataprovider for mysql. A free firebird data provider is in developement by a DNN project for more than a year now.
