Hi,

I am working with a new install of DNN. At first the FreeText editor was not working. It said it wasnt installed even though it was so i tried installing Telerik's RAD editor. I followed all the instructions and now I get the following error:

When i go to edit text i get the following error message:

Value cannot be null. Parameter name: format

Hope somebody can throw some light onto this.

Thanks,
Darren

Hi,

I am getting this problem as well.

I am running 4.03.04

The page can be viewed here:

http://www.bosdev.co.uk/PublicArea/FrequentlyAskedQuestions/tabid/98/Default.aspx

When i am logged in as an administrator the page works fine. When I log out, the page fails with the following error:

Server Error in '/' Application.

Value cannot be null.
Parameter name: input

Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null.
Parameter name: input

Source Error:

The source code that generated this unhandled exception can only be shown when compiled in debug mode. To enable this, please follow one of the below steps, then request the URL:

1. Add a "Debug=true" directive at the top of the file that generated the error. Example:

  <%@ Page Language="C#" Debug="true" %>

or:

2) Add the following section to the configuration file of your application:

<configuration>
   <system.web>
       <compilation debug="true"/>
   </system.web>
</configuration>

Note that this second technique will cause all files within a given application to be compiled in debug mode. The first technique will cause only that particular file to be compiled in debug mode.

Important: Running applications in debug mode does incur a memory/performance overhead. You should make sure that an application has debugging disabled before deploying into production scenario.

Hello All,

I too was having the exact same problem. Whenever i tried to edit something and update it on local dev machine it used to work fine but it used to blow up big time on the production server.

This thread solved the problem.
Subject: App_GlobalResources causes problems when precompiling site in DNN 4.03
URL: http://dotnetnuke.com/Community/ForumsDotNetNuke/tabid/795/forumid/80/threadid/27731/scope/posts/Default.aspx

AFTER following the instructions in the above link.
I compiled the source and took the DotNetNuke.dll out from the source project (<your install drive>\DotNetNuke\Library\bin\) (It was very easy and smooth. Thanks bertcord.)
And copied it to the bin dir of my project
Then recompiled my project. (i used the visual studio DNN templates to create my project and this had the old or shall we call it the BAD dll).
I will keep this dll around and copy it to every new DNN project i create (till its fixed that is.)

Thanks DNN Community !!! You guys Rock. Saved me 1000's of lines of code.
Good developer code Better one's Reuse.

Regards
KM
