I tried to upgrade to 4.3.4.  I laid the new files (upgrade package) over my existing installation, transferred my settings from old web.config to new web.config, and then tried to load the site.  From the get-go, I've received a 401.3 error -

Unauthorized: Access is denied due to an ACL set on the requested resource.

I've navigated directly to my default.aspx page, and I receive the following error:

Server Error in '/intranet' Application.

Runtime Error

Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
<system.web>
<customErrors mode="Off"/>
</system.web>
</configuration>

Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
<system.web>
<customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/>
</system.web>
</configuration>

Any ideas?  I'm about to install it fresh again.  Not sure how I'll get all of my settings and stuff transferred.  I'm not looking forward to it.

PLEASE HELP

Temporarily, in your web.config, set your mode to "Off" so you can see the details of the error.

e.g. <customErrors mode="Off" />

Otherwise, the ACL, the Access Control List error, seems to indicate the user that runs ASP.NET does not hav erights on the resource it's trying to access.  What exactly is your configuration (OS level, local or hosted, etc.)?
