I am using MS SQL Server 2005 and Visual Studio 2005. I unzipped the Source Code zip file to a folder on my C drive as per the installation instructions. I was able to follow directions well until I got to the part where I had to set permissions for the Website folder. The installation document only has instructions for setting these permissions under Windows 2000 and Windows 2003.

Currently, when I type http://localhost/Iron in my web browser, I get an HTTP 500 - Internal server error stating that the page cannot be displayed.

Please advise...

In XP, like in Windows 2000, it's the (local machine)\ASPNET account that needs access to your virtual directory.

Just add ASPNET to the folder with full control and make sure it propogates permissions (default) to the subfolders.

How do I do that? Right-clicking and selecting "Sharing and Security..." brings me to a Sharing tab where I can specify "Local sharing and security" or "Network sharing and security". However, I cannot see where there that I would be able to give rights to a specifiic user as you indicat. Pelase advise.

I am not sure that my last reply went out, so I am sending it again...sorry if it ends up going out twice. Here goes...

How do I do that? Right-clicking, from within Windows Explorer, and selecting "Sharing and Security..." brings me to a Sharing tab where I can specify "Local sharing and security" or "Network sharing and security". However, I cannot see where there that I would be able to give rights to a specifiic user as you indicat. Pelase advise.

By the way, just in case this matters, I am using Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, not XP Pro.
