I have VS2005 installed on my machine, and I downloaded DonNetNuke StarterKit (ver.4). In documentation it is written, that I should execute the "DotNetNuke.vscontent" file. I`m doing this, then I select all 4 options, I`m clicking "finish" to install these 4 things, and then I get the following error:

Installation stopped because the directory for the ProjectType value did not exist.  The project type is invalid for your installation of Visual Studio.

I suppose that the problem is, that I should place these 5 files in some special directory. Am I correct? If so, where?

thank you in advance for help

typically it's a "my documents" folder issue. See http://dotnetnuke.com/Community/ForumsDotNetNuke/tabid/795/forumid/107/threadid/54208/scope/posts/Default.aspx for some suggestions and links.

The problem is that when you try to install the starterkit, it assumes that a particular folder structure will exist. AFAIR it's C:\documents and settings\<username>\My Documents\Visual Studio 2005\Templates\Visual Web Developer\  . There were issues with the beta version of VWD not creating the correct structure, I'd suggest you look to see if you're missing folders, and try to create them.

I don`t know where exactly this folder Visual Web Developer should come from, but nevertheless, I`ve created it. This is full path: C:\Documents and Settings\Martinez Wielki\My Documents\Visual Studio 2005\Templates\Visual Web Developer - and still I`m getting this error: Installation stopped because the directory for the ProjectType value did not exist.  The project type is invalid for your installation of Visual Studio.
