I installed DotNetNuke 4.3.4 on a hosted server and the install seem to go well but certian modules have errors when I try to edit the settings.

Here is the error code from the Events Module:

Error: Module is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.Exceptions.ProcessModuleLoadException(PortalModuleBase ctrlModule, Exception exc) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Events.EventController.UpgradeEvents(Int32 ModuleID) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Events.Settings.LoadSettings() at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.Modules.ModuleSettingsPage.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

Any Ideas?

I have also had this problem with 2 of 3 portals that I have upgraded to 4.3.4.

does anyone have a solution for this?  i'm having the same problem, V4.3.4. hosted server, new intall, everything appears to work except for the when i go to Settings for the Forum and Events modules (maybe more, these 2 so far), i get the following:

   An error has occurred.
   Error: Module is currently unavailable.

i've tried deleting the module and installing the latest version.  ( forums 3.20.08).  the same thing happens with the events module.  there may be others too, those are the 2 i've come accross.

also, with the forum module, when i insert it on a page, i get the following error at the top of the content pane:

   A critical error has occurred.
Format of the initialization string does not conform to specification starting at index 64

if i delete the module, the error remains until i close the browser and log in again.  this does not happen with the events module.

I am getting a similar set of errors.

Fresh install on SQL2000 all seemed to go well until the link to portal at the end of the install script.  Click on that link and all the modules on the fresh homepage state they are unavailable with the Red Exclaimation Mark thing.  I logged in with the admin info and started to edit a link and the save button broke with this error:

An error has occurred.
Error: Edit Links is currently unavailable

The only odd thing leading up to the install is that my hosts control panel didn't give me the ASP or network account to give permissions to...but I could give permissions to everyone...not the smartest, but this is just a test installation anyway.

Any thoughts?
