I installed verion 4.3.0.4 today.  After I got the web.config file correctly set up with connection strings the installation went without a hitch and at the bottom was a "Click here to go to your portal" link (http://localhost/dnn/default.aspx).

Unfortunately this path redirects to http://localhost/install, which returns a 404 because there is no default document there.  I can't find any reason why this would happen.

Possible clue: I was cruising through the web.config file and found the "HostHeader" setting and added "DNN" to it, which may have been a mistake.  I have tried removing it and then adding it back in again, restarting the web app each time.  This does not seem to help.

If I visit http://localhost/DNN/Install/Install.aspx?mode=none, I get

Nothing To Install At This Time

Current Assembly Version: 04.03.04

Current Database Version: 04.03.04

I've read the installation document, searched the forums and don't see anything.  Thanks for any help you can give.

Make sure there is an InstallationDate node in you web.config, take out the HostHeader setting, and then confirm that your PortalAlias is correct.
