Hi

In order to rename the App_GlobalResources and to satisify the precompiling issue after an upgrade here:
http://support.dotnetnuke.com/issue/ViewIssue.aspx?id=2504

Is this the correct procedure?

1) Run upgrade to 4.3.5
2) Copy & Paste App_GlobalResources
3) Rename the copied folder: AppGlobalResources
4) Rename App_GlobalResources to: App_GlobalResources_OLD
5) Delete file \AppGlobalResources\GlobalResources.resx
6) Delete file \AppGlobalResources\SharedResources.resx
7) Recompile all/Restart IIS and run app?
8) Delete App_GlobalResources_OLD when necessary.

I just noticed that files GlobalResources.resx and SharedResources.resx do not get recreated, so I am wondering if I'm doing the right thing? (above).

Also there is GlobalResources.en-GB.resx and SharedResources.en-GB.resx (for UK English), do I keep these files in the AppGlobalResources folder or do I delete these files as well?

Update - I am now experiencing loss of menu funcitonality on the modules (such as settings). I (generally) only see the icons. It can be fixed by renaming App_GlobalResources_OLD back to App_GlobalResources, so clearly I'm not doing the right thing here. So your help here would be very much appreciated!

Cheers

Alex

Alex,

please note, that renaming the App_GlobalResources folder has been rolled back due to compatibility issues found during beta tests. It shall be included in an later release, when there is a solution to provide compatibility.

Thanks Sebastian

Could the status be updated in Gemini?
It currently shows that it has been fixed in 4.3.5 hence my actions.

Cheers

Alex
